Synopsis
At the heart of Scratching the Surface is Line Hoven, an acclaimed illustrator and single mother, renowned for her unique scratchboard technique, a practice defined by patience, humor, and physicality, literally scratching through darkness into light. As generative AI disrupts the creative landscape, Line faces an existential challenge: How do artists stay relevant in this new world?
This immersive VR experience follows Line’s personal and artistic transformation as she steps into the unknown, redefining her creative identity. Through her journey, Scratching the Surface offers a profound reflection on the relationship between art and technology, not through theory, but through lived experience.
In an era of unprecedented AI advancements, we stand at a pivotal historical moment. Scratching the Surface invites audiences to witness and participate in this generational shift, challenging artists to take an active role in shaping AI’s creative future.
